Overview

The Kenneth King Foundation considers organizations on an invitation basis only. The best way to determine whether your organization is a good candidate for funding is by reviewing our Theory of Change, our Ideal Grant Seeker section and by taking our Grant Eligibility Quiz. We welcome your questions and comments, either by scheduling an informational call or through email.

Ideal Grant Seeker

Criteria for eligibility:

  • Organization must be a 501(c)(3) with a tax identification
    number listed in Candid, fka Guidestar

  • Organization must be based in Colorado, serving Colorado residents

  • Programs must improve earning potential and quality of life

  • Alignment with one of the Foundation's three focus areas

  • Programs must have previous proof of skills resulting in creation
    of/placement in jobs with livable wages and businesses with
    growth potential

  • Sustainable and diversified funding streams

  • Organizations must be in operation for at least two consecutive years

  • Utilization of best practices and principles across all levels of the organization

  • A reliable stream of income to service the loans and/or take on equity investment

  • Proven track record of job creation/provision of entrepreneurship skills and new businesses

Suggestions for strong proposals:

  • Clearly presented goals, objectives and strategies

  • Strong, effective and ongoing organization and program evaluation with measurable
    outputs and outcomes

  • Measurable social impact is desirable
