As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on a busy year full of change, opportunities and collaboration. We are grateful to partner with so many organizations across the state and admire your commitment to meeting the needs of those you serve.

This fall we saw an increase of nearly 50% in applications received, which made for an extremely competitive grant cycle. With 95 applicants requesting $3,200,000 in funding, the Kenneth King Foundation Board approved funding for 44 organizations, awarding $1,461,000 across the state. Of those 44 approved grants, 34% are new partners, and 66% are returning grantees. Additionally, this fall we awarded $75,000 in emergency food grants to six organizations serving the increased food security needs across the state.

Our next grant application deadline on March 1, 2026, will be here before we know it. For fall 2024 grant recipients, please make sure to submit your grant report and for prospective grantees, please schedule a grant informational call to explore the possibility of submitting a grant application. Additionally, we are looking for new Peer Reviewers for the next grant cycle, please read below to learn more and submit an interest form.

In order to increase the range of perspectives that inform our grantmaking, the Kenneth King Foundation relies on Colorado-based Peer Reviewers during each grant cycle. Each Peer Reviewer is assigned a small number of grant applications and asked to provide their written feedback, insights, questions, and recommendations—and this information is incorporated into the reviews and decisions made by the Foundation’s staff and Board. We hope that these opportunities surface new partnerships and allow for more community feedback across our Foundation’s processes.

Peer Reviewers — Kenneth King Foundation

This fall grant cycle was the busiest we have seen, perhaps ever. We received a record 95 applications.

We are happy to report that we have approved a total of 44 grants for $1,461,000. Of these 44 grants, 15 of them are to organizations new to the Kenneth King Foundation. Funds are being sent out over the first couple weeks of December.

If you received a grant in November 2024, your grant report is due by December 31, 2025. Thank you to those organizations that have already submitted their report and scheduled their grant report meeting.
