In addition to his business and philanthropic ventures, Kenneth King made several trips to Alaska. In 1948, King took film and photographic footage of his first trip to Alaska. This footage was later produced into his first color film, which was screened in several venues including the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. In one trip to Alaska during the spring of 1956, King lived with the Diomede Inuit on Little Diomede Island for six weeks. During his trips to Alaska, King became interested in Dall Sheep and eventually provided both the Calgary Zoo and the Denver Zoo with Dall lambs. Due to his efforts, the two zoos have full time Dall Sheep exhibits.
