| Our
Foundation is named after Kenneth King who died at an age of 90 in 1992.
Born in Texas, but reared and educated in Denver Public Schools, King graduated
from Northwestern in Chicago and founded Columbia Savings and Loan Association
in Colorado in 1929.
From childhood his motto was "To do the common thing in an uncommon way." Mr. King established the Foundation in 1990 with full funding occurring after his death in 1992. The Foundation was started to carry on his belief to help people, especially the less fortunate. He served on the Board of many charitable organizations and was very active with Goodwill Industries. He believed in giving people the opportunity to work and to prosper under the American free enterprise system. During his years in the home loan industry he found ways to assist people whom otherwise couldn't have obtained home loans. Losing his father early in life young King learned how to take care of himself which gave him the strength and character to take care of others. Click here for a list of our Board of Directors.
